Transition Paragraphs

I am writing a thesis-antithesis-synthesis essay, and I realized that my transition paragraphs are really short, and they do not provide any evidence. Is that okay?

How many paragraphs

So there seems to be some confusion going on how long this paper is suppose to be. I understand the paper needs to be 4 pages long, however is it necessary to have a certain number of paragraphs? Right now on FB it seems like the general agreement is that 4 pages and 10 paragraphs are needed.

Works Cited Page

I see that the assignment sheet says we should make a works cited page. If we haven't used any of the outside articles, is it necessary to make a works cited page with just The Iliad on it?
Is a separate conclusion paragraph necessary for a thesis/antithesis/synthesis paper? It's sounding very similar to the synthesis paragraphs as I write and I'm having trouble making a solid distinction between the two.

Synthesis Help

I am writing a synthesis paper about Zeus.  My synthesis statement is "the existence of the gods relies on fear".  Does this need to be broader and apply to all leaders or religions, or can I leave it specific to the Greek gods?
I have been using the analysis template for all of my body paragraphs of my essay, and while I went back to add variety,  each "This develops" sentence always goes off what I said in the previous paragraph. Is there something I can do to avoid this?
If I'm doing an induction essay, do I need a transition paragraph between each of the points I'm making in order to make it clear what I'm arguing? Because I'm looking at the Essay Formatting Word document that you posted and it says to explain the connection to the next section of the essay. So does this mean that I'd have a paragraph just explaining why "A" leads to "B"? And should I have evidence within that transition paragraph? Thanks!
So currently my essay is 5 and a half pages long and i have already tried shortening it. I was wondering if any one had any ideas on how i could go about shortening it.
-Thanks

thesis help?!

Writing and inductive essay and I want to tweek my second point thesis. Right now it's: Effective leaders are deemed/valued as the most honorable in society. Any ideas?

I've already finished most of my first draft, but I just wanted to know if I could somehow make the main focus of my thesis, antithesis, and synthesis either more clear or more specific. (By the way, I'm writing about Hector)
Thesis: In the Iliad, Homer uses Hector to show that in times of war, family lineage and honor overpower the need for individual glory.
Antithesis: Although family lineage and honor are major motivations for Hector, they become easily overshadowed by passion and personal greed.
Synthesis: Hector's participation in the war emphasizes his strengths and weaknesses as a leader.
Some feedback would be helpful!

Topic Sentence Help?

I'm writing on Hector, and my thesis is about how leaders who rely on their reason over their passion tend to make better decisions for their people and are more effective leaders.  Half of my paper is proof of this with examples where he uses his reason over his passion, and the other is when he slips and ignores his reason, and the consequences of this.  After my introduction paragraph, I went on to say that "Throughout the first half of the epic, Hector's reason takes priority over his temporary emotions, and he is able to elad his troops to what seems at the time a sure victory."  After this, I go on to a specific example in the same paragaph.  My question is, how can I make the topic sentence specific to the example I'm using, or should I?  I needed to establish what my first topic was, which this topic sentence effectively does, I believe.  However, I feel as though going straight into an example doesn't work, as my other paragraphs have topic sentences set to ease into the evidence directly.  I hope this question makes sense, and any advice is welcome and appreciated.

Good Luck and Good Work

Good luck on your Iliad essay this weekend. Tonight your task is to schedule out blocks of time when you will do your work on it. You really do need to work on this on different days so that you can come to your writing with fresh eyes - to spot the problems you didn't realize were there the day before!

Practice AP exam with explanations

This is a practice AP exam that has explanations for each answer. If you're using this to prep for the test on Thursday, focus on the poetry - especially the last poem on it by WB Yeats.
